Rangers have been delivered a big blow to their title hopes, however, it could have been much, much worse.
After rumours surfaced that captain James Tavernier had suffered a burst appendix, which could have kept him on the sidelines for several months, he has been diagnosed with a virus.
The Daily Record has revealed that despite Tavernier only having a small infection, he will still miss between two and three weeks.
Unfortunately for Rangers, they have a crazy run of games against St. Mirren, Hearts, Ross County, Aberdeen, and Hibs in the next three weeks after their Scottish Cup tie against League One basement dwellers Stranraer.
Former Liverpool right-back Jon Flanagan has made just eight appearances this season but will likely be the next man up.
American Matt Polster (four appearances) and 18-year-old Nathan Patterson (yet to debut) could also be in line to make an impact.
