Rangers manager Michael Beale has dismissed reports that striker Alfredo Morelos has signed a pre-contract agreement with Sevilla.

The Colombian’s current deal at Ibrox expires in the summer and he has been free to talk to potential new clubs since January.

But Beale insists Morelos has not agreed to join Sevilla and talks over his Rangers future are planned later in the season.

“At this moment in time we’re focused on the games ahead, there’s no truth in the reports of a contract with Seville,” Beale told reporters.

“I’ve spoken with Alfredo about the recent rumours and there is no truth in that.

“We will sit down and discuss his situation later in the season.”

Morelos has notched up 10 goals and six assists for the club this season, and Beale says he has been impressed by the 26-year-old’s contribution despite the question marks over his future.

“Since I have returned Alfredo has been fantastic, there have been no issues whatsoever and I think people sometimes try to force this.

“If you look at his goal involvement per game you can see his quality.

“There is no truth in any player signing a new contract.”
