Rangers manager Mick Beale will want to ‘know very quickly’ what the future holds for both Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos at Ibrox, according to journalist Dean Jones.

The talented attacking duo, who earn a combined £51,000-per-week, have both entered the final seven months of their respective contracts at Ibrox.

Both Kent and Morelos have been pivotal to Rangers’ success in recent years, and Beale admitted that he ‘ideally’ wants to keep them at the club going forwards.

“Sometimes a player wants to see and take their time, there’s no problem, it’s fine. I think the option is both ways with the players, the cards aren’t in Ryan and Alfredo’s hands,” Beale told Sky Sports.

“We also want to create a stronger Rangers going forward, with or without those players. Ideally with them.”

During their time with the Glasgow giants, Kent and Morelos have claimed the Scottish Premiership title, the Scottish Cup, and reached the Europa League final.

Yet it remains to be seen if Rangers can convince them to commit their futures to the club, and they may be forced into sanctioning their sales in January if they cannot reach a conclusion.

What has Jones said about Kent and Morelos?

Beale replaced former boss Giovanni van Bronckhorst in the Rangers hot seat last month after a brief spell in charge of Queens Park Rangers.

And Jones believes that the 42-year-old tactician will be eager to clear up the futures of both Kent and Morelos as soon as possible.

He said: “He wants to know very quickly what the situation is here with both of these players because it’s very influential as to how you’re going to shape up the rest of your squad too, but they can also have a massive impact on the rest of the season.”

How well have Kent and Morelos played this season?

Neither Kent or Morelos are enjoying their most productive campaigns at present and have been unable to produce their best form.

Kent has registered just one goal in his 22 appearances across all competitions but does have six assists to his name in his 13 top-flight outings.

Meanwhile, Morelos has found the back of the net on only three occasions in 19 games for Rangers throughout 2022/23, setting up a single strike for his teammates along the way.

Beale has a big decision to make over the pair’s futures in the coming weeks, and improving their performances will also be high up on his priority list.
