Rangers B result humiliates Michael Beale’s shambolic Ibrox seniors | OneFootball

Now, by no means are we making an argument in this article that Scottish Championship second-bottom Morton are exactly equal to League One’s third-bottom Alloa, but there’s no denying the gulf between League One and Championship is nowhere near as high as Championship to Premiership, so sides in both of these leagues are vaguely comparable.

And after Rangers struggled horribly to overcome Morton in the League Cup, the B side absolutely strolling it v Alloa in the Challenge Cup last night really told its own story.

Yes, there’s a lot more pressure at a packed Ibrox (although Ibrox was not capacity that night) but giving any slack to the seniors, any excuse to downplay a horrible performance v such a modest team while the B side gave a complete doing to Alloa really tells a damning tale of mismanagement at the top of the club.

It’s deeply depressing how fantastically the ‘lesser’ side did against a wee team like Alloa (bearing in mind the B team is mainly filled with kids) while the expensively-assembled seniors struggled horrifically against a team only about 10 places higher than Alloa in Scottish football.

If nothing else is more damning of Michael Beale’s absolute fail at Rangers, it’s this.

The B team are far from perfect – they’re a mishmash of senior players regaining fitness and youth players trying to break into the seniors. And yet they can comfortably put four past Alloa (yes we know Alloa equalised to make it 1-1) while the seniors, on wages these kids can barely even dream of, only just scraped past Morton and needed a penalty while at it.

It’s dire.

It’s disgraceful.

And it’s shameful.

And it’s indicting of a manager who has no idea what he is doing, what he has signed, or how to cultivate a winning Rangers.

Michael Beale seemed to give formerly Gio’s Rangers a lift last November, now he’s ripped up any good work he did and has made us almost worse than our own B team.

Abysmal.
