Dowell is joining the Scottish Premiership club from English Championship club Norwich City.

The Everton academy graduate spent three seasons with the Canaries, bagging 12 goals in 75 appearances.

Dowell is Rangers’ first signing of the summer as manager Michael Beale looks to bolster his squad for next term.

The Ibrox club has had a campaign to forget after bitter rivals Celtic pipped them to the league title and Scottish League Cup.

The Hoops are also in the final of the Scottish Cup after defeating the Gers in the semi-final.

Rangers are looking to bounce back and have added Dowell to their ranks.

The midfield is a department the Ibrox club need quality reinforcements with Steven Davis, Scott Arfield and Ryan Kent leaving at the end of the season.

The new arrival brings versatility and experience to the table, and Rangers need to make more additions.

Dowell can play in central midfield, attacking midfield and on the right wing.

He has also played for Nottingham Forest, Sheffield United, Derby County and Wigan Athletic, and the Light Blues have a quality player on their hands.

The former England youth international will be keen to prove himself at Ibrox, and the opportunity to play European football may have influenced his decision.
