Rangers star Alfredo Morelos is ‘up for grabs’ and could leave Ibrox before the transfer window slams shut, journalist Dean Jones has told GiveMeSport.

Gers boss Michael Beale has bolstered his squad by securing the signing of Todd Cantwell from Norwich City, but there is still time for further incomings and outgoings to be sanctioned ahead of the fast-approaching deadline.

Rangers transfer news – Alfredo Morelos

According to SportMediaset, via FCInter1908, agent Alejandro Camano has offered Morelos to Serie A giants Inter Milan.

The report suggests the Colombia international could head to the San Siro if Joaquin Correa seals his departure.

There is uncertainty over where Morelos’ long-term future lies as he has entered the final six months of his £33,000-per-week deal at Rangers, meaning he is able to sign a pre-contract agreement with overseas suitors.

Respected journalist Pete O’Rourke recently told GiveMeSport that Beale has ‘got his work cut out’ in attempting to persuade Morelos to put pen-to-paper.

What has Dean Jones said about Morelos?

Jones understands that the pressure is on Morelos’ representatives to arrange a deal if he wants to move onto pastures new before the 11pm deadline on January 31.

The transfer insider feels the 26-year-old is on the market and, as a result, he has refused to rule out the possibility of a switch being completed in the coming days.

Jones told GiveMeSport: “The clock is ticking now. If he does actually want to move, his agents are going to have to probably go and seek out a club.

“They may have to find somewhere that looks like a good fit for him because, clearly, he’s up for grabs at the moment because of his contract situation.”

Would Morelos’ exit come as a big blow to Rangers?

Heading into Rangers’ clash with St Johnstone on Saturday, Morelos had got his name on the scoresheet 119 times and racked up a further 55 assists during his spell on the Glasgow giants’ books, according to Transfermarkt.

With that being the case, it is clear that the South American has been a huge threat in the final third of the pitch since joining from HJK Helsinki in the summer of 2017.

Despite uncertainty over his future, Morelos has still put in some impressive performances this season and scored seven goals.

Morelos also shone during Rangers’ recent win over Kilmarnock, with Sofascore handing him an 8.7 match rating after finding the back of the net twice, registering an assist and playing two key passes.

Although he has been on target more than 160 times over the course of his senior club career, Morelos’ contract situation still means the Gers should look to cash-in during the final days of the transfer window.
