Rangers made it back-to-back victories to open their Scottish Premiership campaign as Antonio Colak and Alfredo Morelos fired the Ibrox side to a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst was looking for a response from his charges following their disappointing 2-0 first leg defeat to Union Saint-Gilloise in Champions League qualifying in midweek, and he was rewarded with a much improved second half display.

Tom Lawrence tested the Kilmarnock goal with a rasping effort that struck the crossbar in what proved to be Rangers' best effort of the first half.

The Ibrox side monopolised possession throughout, but they were reduced to shots from distance in the early exchanges as Lawrence looked to pull the trigger on several ocassions.

Ash Taylor spurned a glorious chance for the visitors before half-time when he headed over from inside the penalty area.

Rangers made their pressure tell just minutes into the second half as Kilmarnock conceded cheap possession inside their own half, with Antonio Colak trading passes with Lawrence before rifling his finish into the bottom corner.

The home crowd then serenaded Alfredo Morelos as he made his return from a lengthy injury lay-off later in the second half, with the Colombian sealing the points for Rangers with two minutes remaining.
