Rangers 0-1 Celtic LIVE! Jota goal - Scottish Cup result, match stream and latest updates today

Article image:Rangers 0-1 Celtic LIVE! Jota goal - Scottish Cup result, match stream and latest updates today

A thrilling Old Firm derby concluded the Scottish Cup semi-finals at Hampden Park on Sunday afternoon. Celtic remain on track for a domestic treble under Ange Postecoglou, having already seen off their fiercest rivals in the League Cup final last month and with an almost unassailable 13-point lead at the Premiership summit.

And they did it again on Sunday, with Jota’s back-post header on the stroke of half-time from Daizen Maeda’s fantastic cross punishing some dreadful defensive errors. Celtic have now not lost any of their last six Old Firm derbies, with Michael Beale still yet to claim his first Old Firm triumph. Rangers now have no chance at any silverware this term and face Celtic for the final time in the League at Ibrox on May 13.

Celtic’s lone domestic loss of the season came way back in September and they will be massive favourite over Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup final on June 3, with the Championship side having seen off third-tier Falkirk at Hampden yesterday in a repeat of the 2015 final. Follow Celtic vs Rangers reaction live below!

It’s all over! Jota’s first-half header seals Celtic’s latest Old Firm derby win and a place in the Scottish Cup final.

They will face Inverness Caledonian Thistle back at Hampden Park on June 3, huge favourites to complete a first domestic treble since the 2019/20 campaign.

Relentless!

For holders Rangers, that’s season over with the League Cup final already lost and a 13-point deficit in the Premiership title race. They won’t win any trophies this term.

That’s now six Old Firm derbies without a win. Michael Beale is still yet to taste victory in this fixture as a manager.

He will get one final chance this season in the League at Ibrox on May 13.

92 mins: An easy take from Hart to claim a cross intended for Sakala.

Ralston now down after a knock, taking a bit more time off the clock.

Celtic fans in great voice as they anticipate another huge Old Firm triumph.

89 mins: Carter-Vickers and Starfelt have been immense in the heart of that Celtic defence this afternoon.

The former in particular has been brilliant in the air, repelling the latest dangerous Rangers cross in emphatic fashion.

He’s won everything slung into the box.

Over from Yilmaz! Time is slipping away on Rangers’ Scottish Cup final hopes and their season in general...

87 mins: Celtic are doing very well on the ball here to kill the clock and deny Rangers any late momentum in search of that equaliser.

But captain Callum McGregor is booked for bringing down Hagi.

84 mins: Superb play from Matondo to outfox Carter-Vickers and tee up Arfield, whose curved strike fails to test Hart.

There will be no goal against Rangers today for Kyogo.

He’s replaced by Oh Hyeon-gyu.

82 mins: Cantwell takes a not-so-subtle swipe at Haksabanovic, who stays on his feet and then fails to release Maeda with another overhit pass.

Cantwell then deservedly has his name taken.
