Speaking to TF1 after coming on to net France’s second goal in their World Cup semi-final win over Morocco, Randal Kolo Muani pointed out that the moment still hadn’t sunk in for him.

The Eintracht Frankfurt man was brought on for Ousmane Dembélé and finished from close range after some nice work from Kylian Mbappé in the penalty area in some tight space, finding his fellow Bondy native with a deflected shot. The former Nantes man then found the net, scoring after a second half that had been dominated by Morocco until then and booking France’s place in the final.

“It’s magical, I don’t have the words to describe it. We have to give ourselves the means to go all the way. I’m still in a dream, I’m finding it hard to wake up. It’s a good thing I followed Kylian, he’s the one who did all the work. I can be proud of my positioning. Right now it still hasn’t sunk in. We’ll realise it tomorrow morning.”

After the hard-fought win Les Bleus now face Argentina on Sunday with both teams looking to win a third World Cup in their history. France have advanced to their fourth final since 1998, with manager Didier Deschamps having been involved in three of those, as captain and then as manager.
