Ralph Hasenhüttl brushes off comparisons with Jürgen Klopp

As Southampton and Liverpool face off on Friday night, it has led to comparisons between the coaches.

Both Ralph Hasenhüttl and Jürgen Klopp arrived in English football after impressing in the Bundesliga.

While they employ similar footballing philosophies, the Saints boss insisted that is where the similarities end.

“The reason why people compare us is maybe because we play similar football with a pressing style and are very emotional,” he said.

“I think the comparisons are finished there because I’m a character we can’t compare.

“He has did a fantastic job at Liverpool and I try to do mine here and we’re both successful so far.”

Their footballing styles will clash at St Mary’s on Friday night as the visitors look to return the top of the Premier League table.
