Manchester United will be without new interim manager Ralf Rangnick on Thursday night when they take on Arsenal.

The German was confirmed as boss until the end of the season on Monday after Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s sacking a week ago.

Following multiple reports, the club has confirmed Rangnick will not make his United debut at Old Trafford on Thursday due to complications regarding a work permit.

That means current caretaker manager Michael Carrick will again be in the dugout against the Gunners, having won at Villarreal last week and drew at Chelsea on Sunday.

It is expected that Rangnick could instead take charge for the first time on Sunday when United welcome Crystal Palace to Manchester.
