According to Sports Zone, Ralf Rangnick is on the verge of being appointed as Thomas Tuchel’s successor as manager of Bayern Munich.

It has already been disclosed that Tuchel will leave Bayern Munich at the end of the season, regardless of how the Bavarian club finish the season. Bayern Munich were keen to tempt Bayer Leverkusen’s Xabi Alonso to the Allianz Arena after his side pipped Bayern Munich to the Bundesliga title. However, amidst competition from Liverpool, the Spaniard announced that he would be staying put this summer.

Zinédine Zidane has also been linked but Sports Zone now understands that Bayern Munich will turn to an interim option in the form of Austria manager Rangnick, who is close to the club’s new sporting director Max Eberl. Rangnick,  whose methods of working are familiar to Eberl, is expected to sign a one-year deal with another move for Alonso expected to be made next summer.
