📣 Ralf Rangnick confirms Harry Maguire will continue to captain United | OneFootball

In spite of his fiery interview a few weeks back and not having started this year, manager Ralf Rangnick confirmed that centre-back Harry Maguire will continue to captain the Manchester United side.

When asked if Cristiano Ronaldo could take over the armband, Rangnick explained that he doesn’t feel he needs to make any changes on that front.

“Right now, I don’t see a reason to do that because Harry has been the captain so far and as long as Harry is playing he will be the captain,” said Rangnick.

“And if he’s not playing then someone else will have to be the captain. This can change from game-to-game just depending on who is playing.

“…Harry will play from the beginning tomorrow and be the captain of the team.

“In the back four, it is not only the individual performance, it is also how they co-operate and work together.”

The £80m defender has only featured 19 minutes thus far in 2022 as he has been battling a chest injury that has caused him to have breathing difficulties.
