Raiola says it’s ‘bullsh*t’ to suggest his Pogba comments destabilised Man Utd | OneFootball

Mino Raiola has rubbished suggestions that his Paul Pogba comments destabilised Manchester United, amid the continued uncertainty over his client’s future at the club.

The ‘super-agent’ has drawn the wrath of the Red Devils on a number of occasions in recent times, the Italian seemingly set on taking Pogba out of Old Trafford.

The World Cup winner returned to United in 2016 in a world-record £89m deal after four years with Juventus, yet since then it’s been a fairly turbulent spell at times, with frequent suggestions that he was looking for an exit from the club.

While the 27-year-old has been in good form this season, he has less than 18 months remaining on his current contract, with little sign that he will be penning a new deal anytime soon.

There had been rumours over the summer that a new long-term deal could be on the cards, although that was effectively quashed when Raiola said Pogba’s career with the club was ‘over’ back in December, just before United’s crucial Champions League game with RB Leipzig.

With Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side losing that game and dropping out of the competition, many were pointing the finger at Pogba and his agent, although Raiola insists that he did not ‘destabilise’ the Premier League side, particularly as they went on to enjoy a good run over the festive period.

“I just expressed an opinion, I didn’t want to cause a problem,” he told BBC Sport.

“The opinion was a very simple one, I don’t think it destabilised anybody because they had a fantastic run, they were first in the league for a period, so that’s all bulls**t.

“A player of 27, a big player like Pogba or Solskjaer, who has won everything in his life, really get destabilised by what Mino Raiola says? Wow, if I had this power FIFA wouldn’t exist anymore, that’s for sure.

“But I don’t talk about it anymore, it’s not the moment to talk about the market, it makes life a little bit boring but it is what it is.”

The 53-year-old – who also represents the likes of Erling Haaland, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Matthijs De Ligt – has also claimed that clubs and the media are too concerned with what he has to say.

“Whenever I tell my opinion, everyone in England goes berserk, and I am the worst agent, or the best agent…and the clubs get so stressed from the public and journalists that I have learned not to talk much about it.”
