He may be a superstar player for club and country but Raheem Sterling has never forgotten his roots.
That is in evidence again this week after the forward caught Manchester City officials off guard with a surprise request.
According to the Daily Mail, he asked staff at the club to keep aside 550 tickets for Saturday’s FA Cup semi-final against Brighton – in order to treat pupils from his old school.
Thanks to Sterling’s generosity, kids from the Copland Community School, since renamed Ark Elvin Academy, will get to watch the local lad in action at Wembley Stadium.
In addition, the former Liverpool man is set to meet the students on Thursday at City’s training ground.
The pupils will be hopeful of watching Sterling guide City into another FA Cup final to keep their quadruple aspirations alive.
