Last week, Rafael Camacho made his first-team debut in Liverpool’s 2-1 FA Cup loss at Wolves, albeit while playing out of position at right-back.
On Monday, Camacho was back with the U-23s and scored his eighth goal of the season, pouncing on a loose pass before he smashed his shot into the bottom corner from the edge of the box.
After Liverpool’s 1-1 draw with Brighton in Premier League 2 action, Camacho told Liverpool’s official website how his experience at Melwood is preparing him to be a full professional.
“You learn every day. The quality there is very good, it makes you a better player,” he said
“[My senior debut] was very good, a proud moment obviously. It shows the manager and the first team give opportunities – I just have to keep working hard.”
Camacho normally plays on the wings and has eight assists to add to his eight goals in 16 matches in all competitions with the U-23s.
Last week, it was reported that Jürgen Klopp vetoed a move that would have sent Camacho on loan to Sporting Lisbon for the rest of the season.
