Having replaced the under-performing Philipp Köhn (26) in February, Radoslaw Majecki (24) has been unflappable since taking his place in the AS Monaco goal. His performances are set to be rewarded.
Despite replacing Köhn, there had been doubts that Majecki would potentially be replaced in the Monaco goal ahead of the Principality club’s UEFA Champions League campaign next season. Speaking in an interview with L’Équipe, Adi Hütter extinguished those doubts.
“Radek is 24 years old. He has shown his qualities and made lots of clean sheets (seven in 12 games). We have perhaps defended better than before but when you see his performances, he has been top. We don’t need to think about other goalkeepers. We have full faith in our own,” said the Monaco manager, who has seemingly confirmed Majecki’s No.1 spot for next season.
However, with the Poland international’s contract expiring at the end of next season, there still existed doubts about his long-term future with Les Monégasques. Those doubts may soon be put to bed too. According to Fabrizio Romano, Majecki is set to put pen to paper on a new deal with Monaco, which will tie him to the Principality club until 2028. Majecki’s medium and long-term future at Monaco is therefore assured.
