Accrington gave their rivals a scare when they halved the deficit with five minutes of normal time left on the clock. However, Nigel Clough’s side held on to clinch all three points to cement their place in second place in the league standings.

Meanwhile, the result left Accrington in 18th position, level on points with Tranmere who are above them on goal difference, and just a point above Swindon.

Against Mansfield, Vitek faced a total of 14 shots, with five of these requiring him to swing into immediate action.

While between the sticks, the Czech international made an amazing three saves from the five shots he was required to keep from flying into the back of his net. Two of the shot-stopper’s saves came from inside the box.

Vitek was required to rush out of his line on one occasion to initiate sweeping action. His run out of his area was successful.

He had a total of 56 touches of the ball to his name.

The 20-year-old managed to complete 19 of his 49 pass attempts to connect with his Accrington teammates. He also launched 37 long passes, successfully reaching his target on just seven occasions.

Vitek executed one clearance and emerged victorious from the one ground duel he delved into.

He also drew in one foul.
