Racing Louisville should have had knees knocking as Orlando Pride star striker Barbra Banda took the pitch. Yet, Louisville goalkeeper Jordyn Bloomer used the Orlando attack to put on a career performance, featuring a high of seven saves.
Racing’s back-four held the Pride to 0.76 expected goals. That’s their second-lowest total of the season. One of the defenders, Arin Wright, headed home one of the two goals in the 30th minute, her first as a Racing player. It was off a corner kick. Midfielder Taylor Flint scored the second goal on a penalty kick in the 68th minute.
It was their fourth consecutive match with multiple goals – a Racing Louisville first. It’s also the first time the team reached this point in the season with 20 points on their record of 6-5-2.
A review of match highlights shows that the Pride’s shots were either direct to the Louisville netminder or too hard and high. Many shots were from a distance.

Head Coach Seb Hines summarized that the scores came down to two set pieces with a corner. Yet defending corners and penalties are two major areas for Pride drills.
They were absorbed with the fight to equalize against Louisville. Still, coaches had their minds on preparing for the future.
Recently signed Pride forward Simone Jackson came in as a second-half substitute, making her professional debut. She’s the second player this season to make her NWSL debut with Orlando.
After completing her four-year career at the University of Southern California, Jackson signed with the Pride through 2028. In college, she played 75 games, starting in 53. She tallied 22 goals with 13 assists and made 204 shots, 98 on target.
She’s got the stamina and drive to keep up with the Orlando Pride attack. Next time the team faces opponents playing a career game like Racing Louisville did, Simone Jackson might make the difference.
