Rabbi Matondo moves to Stoke City

Winger Rabbi Matondo has left FC Schalke 04 to sign on loan at Stoke City until the end of the 2020/21 season. The Royal Blues and the Championship side have agreed to keep the details of the deal undisclosed. The Welsh international’s contract at Schalke runs until 30th June 2023.

“Rabbi Matondo came to us with the wish of a sporting change,” said Jochen Schneider, Head of Sport and Communication. “We believe the change in environment will do both sides good.”

Matondo joined S04 from Manchester City in January 2019 and went on to make 30 Bundesliga appearances for the club, scoring twice. The 20-year-old also played twice in the DFB-Pokal.
