Sevilla have confirmed the appointment of Quique Sánchez Flores as their new head coach.
The 58-year-old succeeds Diego Alonso, who was deposed after barely two months last weekend with the club hovering above LaLiga’s relegation zone.
Sánchez Flores has signed a deal at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán until summer 2025 as the dethroned Europa League holders aim to arrest their recent slump.
Prior to Monday’s arrival at Los Nervionenses, he had enjoyed spells with several Spanish clubs including Valencia, Getafe and Atlético de Madrid, where he clinched Europa glory.
He will take charge of team training and be formally unveiled to the media ahead of his new side’s trip to Granada in their final LaLiga outing of the calendar year on Tuesday.
