Liverpool locked horns with Aston Villa at Villa Park earlier tonight as they hoped to secure a good result on their travels in the Premier League. The Reds made a quick start to the game and got their noses ahead in the second minute due to an unfortunate own goal from Emiliano Martinez. However, Youri Tielemans equalised for the home team just ten minutes later before Cody Gakpo gave Liverpool the lead again in the 23rd minute. Jurgen Klopp‘s men went into the half-time break 2-1 up on the scoreline.

Jarell Quansah scored the Merseyside club’s third goal with a good header in the 48th minute. However, Jhon Duran bagged a late brace for the Villans that saw Liverpool come away with a hard-fought 3-3 draw from Villa Park.

GK: Alisson Becker – 5.5/10

The Brazilian keeper made a couple of solid saves at the back but would be disappointed after conceding three times tonight.

RB: Trent Alexander-Arnold – 6/10

He looked far from convincing on the defensive end of the field but made one good chance going forward.

CB: Jarell Quansah – 8/10

Quansah did his fair share of defending and managed to score early in the second half with a great header.

CB: Virgil Van Dijk – 6.5/10

He looked shaky at the back but made some crucial clearances inside his half.

LB: Joe Gomez – 6.5/10

He was caught out of position at times but made one positive run with the ball.

CM: Harvey Elliott – 7/10

Elliott worked hard and managed to create a couple of decent chances for others around him. He ended the game with an assist to his name.

CM: Wataru Endo – 7/10

He anchored the midfield well and was good on the ball.

CM: Alexis Mac Allister – 5.5/10

Mac Allister struggled to anchor the midfield with conviction and was lackluster on the ball.

RW: Mohamed Salah – 7/10

He caused some headaches for the opposition defenders but there was no goal for him.

ST: Cody Gakpo – 7.5/10

Gakpo led the line well for the Reds and managed to get his name on the scoresheet in the 23rd minute.

LW: Luis Diaz – 7/10

Diaz created a few inviting chances for his teammates but never looked like he would score.

ST: Darwin Nunez – 6/10

He failed to get into the rhythm of the game.

CM: Ryan Gravenberch – 6/10

Gravenberch offered very little after coming off the bench.

He lacked quality on the ball.
