Queens Park Rangers will be hoping to end a six-game winless run when they travel to Huddersfield Town on Saturday.

There would have still been optimism that the Rs could push for promotion when Mick Beale was replaced by Neil Critchley at Loftus Road, but only one league win has been delivered since and the West Londoners have slipped to mid table as a result.

QPR are a strong run of form away from putting themselves back in contention for a place in the top six, and the trip to the John Smith’s Stadium provides an excellent opportunity for them to address their recent form.

It was a very quiet January transfer window for the Rs with Jamal Lowe arriving on loan from Bournemouth for the rest of the season their only incoming.

However, the club will be content to have got Macauley Bonne and George Thomas off of the wage bill, while Olamide Shodipo, Conor Masterson and Niko Hamalainen left on loan, and Faysal Bettache saw his contract terminated.

Here, we have taken a look at the latest QPR team news ahead of facing the Terriers…

Luke Amos, Leon Balogun and Lyndon Dykes will not feature, with the availability of two players remaining in doubt ahead of the club’s training today.

Dykes could be discharged from hospital today after entering medical care with pneumonia, Critchley told the club’s website, there is no timeline for a first team return for the striker, with his health understandably being prioritised above everything else.

The availability of full backs Kenneth Paal and Ethan Laird rests on how well they come through the squad’s training session today, with both players, who arrived in the summer, first choice in their positions when fit for selection.

Osman Kakay has been a good servant at QPR and can slot into a number of roles for Rangers, but there is a significant drop-off in the side’s attacking threat down the right flank when Laird is out of the side.

With QPR in poor form, Mark Fotheringham will be eyeing Saturday’s match as an opportunity for the Terriers to apply some pressure on the likes of Cardiff City and Rotherham United above them, and it should be an interesting game with both sides sensing the opportunity to pick up a victory.
