Queens Park Rangers have picked up under the guidance of Marti Cifuentes and now look hopeful of avoiding relegation to League One.

They started the season with former Wycombe Wanderers manager Gareth Ainsworth in charge but he was sacked at the end of October after losing his last six games.

With the club sat second bottom in the Championship, they hired Cifuentes from Swedish side Hammarby and he has done a great job.

The R’s are now four points clear of the bottom three and with eight teams below them, there is real hope that the Spanish coach will lead the R's in the second tier again next term.

Whilst staying up is still the priority, they will have a watchful eye on preparations for the future.

One player that they could look to sign for next season is Brentford’s Omaru King.

QPR could sign attacker who idolises Eze

King is an attacker who is currently on the books of QPR’s bitter rivals Brentford, but he could be a player that they keep an eye on with a view to a loan deal in the future.

The 17-year-old was listed by The Evening Standard as one of their Top 50 London youngsters, due to his impressive form for the Bees' academy sides.

He has been labelled as “the most exciting prospect” in the Brentford Under-18s side, having joined in February 2023.

He is said to idolise one of QPR’s best players of the last decade, Ebere Eze, and is also said to play in a similar way to the Crystal Palace star in that he likes to take on defenders out wide, using his close control to glide past them.

QPR have a very old squad in comparison to the rest of the division and they could use a youthful attacker to spice up their attack ahead of the season.

As with any young player, there's no guarantee that he will be a bit but from their perspective, it is a low-risk, high-reward type of signing.

Brentford may also like the fact that one of their young players could go out on loan to a Championship outfit that is not located far away at all.

Having played U18 football this season and impressed, a move to a senior team could be the next natural step in his career.

This would not be the first time QPR signed someone from Brentford, and it would not be the last

Whilst signing King could represent a good deal for both parties, the QPR faithful may not be keen on signing a player from their rivals.

However, a move between the two clubs happens more than you might think.

The three most recent transfers between the two sides have all moved from the Bees to Loftus Road.. The most recent transfer was Yoann Barbet moving across from Brentford to QPR in the summer of 2019.

Whilst transfers between the two sides do not happen very often, this should not put QPR off from potentially making a move for a real talent in King, who could add some energy to an aging side.

Next season might be one year too soon but he's someone that the R's should be keeping an eye on while the fact that he idolises Eze means that he may well be interested in a spell in W12.
