Fulham’s Ma’kel Bogle-Campbell was one of the four players involved, as well as striker Blaise Uwandji of West Ham, with the duo expected to be released from their respective Premier League sides when their contracts expire in the summer.

Tractor Boys duo Nick Nkansa-Dwamena and Henry Curtis also played the whole 90 minutes for a young Hoops side, with the full-backs also likely to leave Portman Road during the off-season.

Queens Park Rangers eyeing up new talent from Premier League sides

The trip to the north proved to be a disappointment for Paul Furlong and his youth side, as Wednesday ran out 3-1 winners.

Cian Flanney opened the scoring for the hosts in the early stages before Joseph Ajose levelled matters at the midway point of the first half.

Adam Adetoro’s brace then decided the affair in the Yorkshire side’s favour, as the four trialists suffered defeat as they tried to impress their prospective new employers.

Bogle-Campbell is a player with a highly regarded youth pedigree; having been on the books at Arsenal before moving to Craven Cottage, and signed a scholarship deal with Fulham in 2022 although he has never featured for the first team.

Nkansa-Dwamena was at West Ham before joining Ipswich in 2022, while Curtis made the move to Portman Road after rising through the Kinetic Academy.

Uwandji signed a scholarship at the London Stadium in the summer of 2022, and went on to feature regularly for the under-18 side.

Four goals in 16 appearances during the previous campaign helped the young Hammers side to win the Premier League South for their age range, as well as the FA Youth Cup.

QPR academy graduates that have shone in the EFL

Loftus Road has proven to be the perfect launching pad for many a successful footballing career, with Raheem Sterling a shining example of a player who was nurtured in west London before making the move to Liverpool as a teenager.

West Bromwich Albion’s Darnell Furlong is another star who came up through the Hoops ranks, as well as current players Ilias Chair and Osman Kakay.

Southampton’s backup goalkeeper Joe Lumley was another player to start out life as a professional in the Shepherd’s Bush region; going on to make 84 appearances for the club before leaving for Middlesbrough in 2021.

Rangers have also produced their fair share of attacking talent in recent years, with current defender-terroriser Sinclair Armstrong the latest to come up through the ranks, following in the footsteps of Eberechi Eze, who joined Crystal Palace after initially flourishing in blue and white.

Armstrong has drawn attention from several clubs in the Premier League as well as across Europe after a series of strong performances for his side this season, as he valiantly tries to stop them dropping into the third tier.

The forward's contract is said to run out at Loftus Road this summer, although the club are said to have an option of extending that by another year if they wish to do so; with three goals and three assists, as well as countless lung-busting runs at shellshocked defenders this season, the R's will be doing everything they can to keep hold of him for the future.
