Coventry City and QPR will likely head into the right-wing-back market when the summer transfer window opens its doors.

With it still being a while before the window opens for business, there is still lots of football to be played but that is not to say that the Championship clubs will not already be assessing their options and planning ahead.

21-year-old Ethan Laird has accumulated over 2,000 minutes of Championship action for the R’s this season, emerging as a regular starter from fairly early on in the campaign.

As for the Sky Blues, 19-year-old Brooke Norton-Cuffy has started four times since Arsenal decided to allow the teenager to join Coventry after spending the first half of the campaign at Rotherham United.

With both players being highly rated by their parent clubs, permanent pursuits or further loan spells for the pair might prove too difficult and the Championship pair may be forced to continue their search elsewhere.

One player that might emerge on their radar is Bournemouth’s Jack Stacey, with the 26-year-old set to see his Cherries contract set to expire in the summer.

What year was the club founded?

Playing 292 minutes of Premier League football and having Ryan Fredericks (when fit) and Adam Smith for company, it would be no surprise if the flying full-back was allowed to depart.

Despite playing as a full-back in a back four at Bournemouth, and his success at Luton Town coming whilst as part of a solid four, it just seems that the wing-back role would suit him down to the ground.

A quick, direct, forward-thinker who possesses good delivery, Stacey is a player that would thrive in a system that requires wing-backs to have a high starting position and looks to the wide areas for creativity.

Stacey is a top-end Championship player who would represent a coup at both Coventry and QPR but it would be no shock if he is on the radars of lots of second-tier clubs going into the summer, especially when looking into his contract situation.

One of his former clubs Luton would also represent a good possible destination, given that was where he played his best football, however, the Hatters possess a slight chance of keeping hold of Cody Drameh past his temporary stint with Leeds United set for a managerial change.

Of course, Bournemouth may still see a future for the defender and may look to resolve his contract situation and there will likely be more opportunities for Stacey during the latter stages of this campaign.
