That is according to Sky Sports News, via their transfer centre.

In a big Crystal Palace update, Sky Sports revealed that the two Championship sides are working on a late deal to take the 20-year-old on loan for the remainder of the season.

The Championship duo do face competition from elsewhere, though.

As outlined in the report, Belgian side Molenbeek are also keen on a deal for Ebiowei and to take him on loan for the remainder of the season.

So far this campaign, Ebiowei has made zero senior appearances for Crystal Palace, instead having to make do with football in the EFL Trophy and Premier League 2 for Crystal Palace's Under-23s.

With that in mind, a loan deal to one of the above sides in order to gain more first-team football would make sense.

Crystal Palace opted to do so last season with their young star, too, when Ebiowei joined Hull City on loan in January for the remainder of the 2022/23 campaign.

It was not until late February, for example, that Ebiowei would go on to make his first start for the Tigers, and in the end, he would only make a total of five during his spell there.

His time with Hull yielded seven substitute appearances on top of that, and was no doubt a good learning experience for the player, particularly given his lack of senior experience generally.

Out of the Championship options available to him, Coventry City would surely be deemed the better option for the player's development.

Although it could mean less game time, Coventry are a side aiming for the play-offs this campaign, and Mark Robins has built a fantastic environment at the CBS Arena - one a young player like Ebiowei could go and thrive in.

QPR, however, are currently in the bottom three and fighting for their lives to stay up. Every match matters, every point matters, and I think questions must be asked about whether or not that is the best environment to go into midway through the season as a young player.

Of course, Ebiowei is used to tough situations like that from his time at Derby, so it isn't necessarily a bad move, it just might be a more pressurised one.
