This season, Lamine Yamal and Pau Cubarsi have been the two youngsters who have taken FC Barcelona by storm. Both these players have showcased their gifted talents at a very young, and have made a place for themselves in the starting lineups despite the competition from vastly more experienced players.

The storyline of these two players is particularly extraordinary, but there have been other players who have also gotten significant prominence with the first team, albeit not as much as that enjoyed by these two previously mentioned players.

Two such players are Marc Guiu and Hector Fort, who have also gotten some minutes in the first team and have also made some meaningful contributions.

Being not as popular as Yamal or Cubarsi, Barcelona undertook an informal interview with the players to help the fans get to know them better, and Mundo Deportivo has picked up some of the most interesting bits from this interview.

The fullback was asked about his dreams, and he mentioned picking one specific trophy in response: “One of them, I have a few, would be to win a Champions League with Barça. If possible, play the maximum minutes possible at the Camp Nou.”

The defender also named a Barcelona icon as one of his idols: “Puyol, I think his way of living the badge, feeling the colors, and defending this team is a unique way to admire, and I believe and think that is how everyone should do it, and I hope someday I can do it like him.”

The 17-year-old Barcelona starlet has also shared his views about the impact of La Masia on his life:

“La Masia is our home. We have been here for 11 years, and in the end, it is practically everything. It has been with us for more than half of our lives and has instilled values in us that we will have for life.”

The striker, Guiu, was asked about Xavi Hernandez, and he identified the chances given to youngsters like him as a particularly striking trait of the head coach:

“I think Xavi has been a very important coach for Barça, especially for us young players, as he has given us many opportunities. He is a top-class person who should be enjoyed.”

He was also asked about the Champions League, to which he replied: “I think the Champions League is the most important competition for everyone. It is the highest you can aspire to, and we hope to win it.”

Thus, both Fort and Guiu want to win the premier European competition, and both will be gunning for the team to go as far as possible this season.

Furthermore, Barcelona fans will also be quick to notice one of their biggest legends to be the idol of Hector Fort, and will be hoping that the youngster can grow up in his footsteps to lead another generation of Barcelona backline in the coming years.
