With the transfer window now well underway, it will be intriguing to see whether Reading will decide to engage in any business in the coming weeks.

Whilst Royals manager Veljko Paunovic is not expected to splash the cash this month, he may be able to strengthen his squad by securing the services of free-agents whilst loan moves could also be on the cards.

Reading may also opt to part ways with some of their players who have struggled to deliver the goods on a consistent basis this season.

Ahead of the club’s clash with Luton Town this weekend, we have decided to take a look at the latest Reading transfer talking points…

Liam Moore set for exit?

One of the players who could be set to leave Reading this month is Liam Moore.

The Royals released a statement on their official website last weekend which confirmed that Moore had been stripped of the captaincy at the club due to the fact that he has expressed a desire to move on to pastures new.

However, it is understood that the defender has yet to attract any suitors and thus there is a strong possibility that he will be forced to watch on from the sidelines for the remainder of the season if he is unable to find a new team.

Another player who could be in line to seal a move away from the Select Car Leasing Stadium is George Puscas.

According to Romanian journalist Emanuel Rosu, Belgian side Anderlecht are interested in signing the forward on a temporary basis from the Royals.

Danny Drinkwater? (Loan)

Puscas has struggled for form this season as he has yet to find the back of the net in the Championship despite making 22 appearances at this level.

Will Andy Carroll sign a new deal?

Andy Carroll’s future at Reading is uncertain due to the fact that his short-term deal with the club expired earlier this month.

A report from The Sun last weekend suggested that the Royals were confident that the forward will sign a new contract which will allow him to feature at this level for the remainder of the 2021/22 campaign.

However, when you consider that Burnley are also believed to be interested in signing the former Newcastle United man, Reading may need to line up some alternative options as Carroll could be tempted to seal a move to a Premier League side.
