Hull City have been in excellent recent form and will be growing increasingly ambitious about what this season could possibly hold.
The Tigers have lost just two games since Liam Rosenior took charge back in early November, with Hull picking up 20 points in 12 games under his stewardship.
Now, they sit just four points outside of the play-off positions and will be backing themselves to make further progress and continue to challenge for the top-six positions.
Asked if he now considers the Tigers as play-off contenders, Carlton Palmer told Football League World: “Well, he’s done a fantastic job hasn’t he?
“One defeat in six, four wins and a draw. That’s fantastic form from the position they were when he took over.
“We’ve seen before what can happen in the Championship or any league if you put a run together. I mean Forest proved last season that you can never write anybody off.

“So yes, Hull are definitely play-off contenders. Now, they need to find a way to keep on winning.”
The verdict
Rosenior has done a fantastic job and whilst managing to display excellent recent form, there seems to be a great feeling all across the club.
Four points outside of the play-off positions, and with all four play-off places well up for grabs, there will be lots of confidence inside the Hull camp you would think.
The only concern has to be the form that they have displayed against teams that are currently at the top end of the division.
Hull have managed just four points in 10 games against the division’s top nine teams, although it has to be considered that they have only suffered one defeat against teams in the top nine.
