Sky Sports EFL pundit David Prutton has predicted that Burnley boss Vincent Kompany will maintain his unbeaten record at Turf Moor with a 1-0 win over Stoke City tomorrow evening.

The Championship‘s action-packed schedule ahead of the winter World Cup break means that games are set to come thick and fast over the next six weeks, which is something Kompany, who has a deeper squad than most in the division, will be keen to take advantage of.

Burnley were held to a 1-1 draw by Cardiff City on Saturday as they once again failed to land the killer blow but the result means it’s now nine games since they’ve lost – a reflection of how hard they’ve been to beat under Kompany.

Wednesday’s opponents have not been quite as solid under their new manager, Alex Neil, and were taken apart by Watford on the weekend.

The Hornets put four past Stoke in what was Slaven Bilic’s first game in charge, which will leave Burnley confident of extending their unbeaten run.

For Sky Sports, Prutton has predicted they’ll do that with a 1-0 win over the Potters at Turf Moor.

Win Draw Lose

The Verdict

It’s hard to disagree with Prutton on this one. The Clarets’ only loss this season has come away from home and that’s a record Kompany will be determined to maintain.

Bar their 5-1 win over Wigan, we’ve not really seen Burnley rack up big scorelines this term but they should be licking their lips after Watford’s 4-0 win over Stoke.

The Potters certainly have dangerous players but heading away to Turf Moor on the back of a big defeat is not an ideal situation.

Kompany’s side need to start turning draws into wins more often and he’ll be desperate to see them land a killer blow against Stoke on Wednesday because the visitors do have the players to hurt them if they don’t.
