It has been reported by the Daily Mail that Liverpool are interested in Chelsea midfielder Christian Pulisic. The report states that Liverpool are considering signing the 22-year-old come the summer.
However, BBC pundit Garth Crooks has shared his concerns regarding Pulisic.
Crooks believes that Pulisic is a good player, but he has doubts regarding whether the midfielder can remain fit.
Crooks told BBC Sport: “I am in no doubt that Pulisic is a top-class player and capable of scoring 10-15 goals a season.
“However, in order to do that you need to be resilient and remain fit, and therein lies Pulisic’s problem – he cannot remain fit for any length of time.”
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
We completely agree with Crooks that Pulisic is a very good player. There is a reason why the 22-year-old has a current market value of €50 million.
But, there is no denying that Pulisic has picked up quite a few injuries throughout his short career. We have no idea if Liverpool’s interest in Pulisic is genuine, but let’s say it is.
If Liverpool believe that Pulisic is going to have problems with his fitness throughout his entire career, then the club should avoid signing him.
There is no point in signing a player that spends more time on the sidelines than on the pitch.
