It’s advantage América after the Eagles and Clásico Capitalino rivals Pumas battled to a first-leg draw in the Liguilla quarter-finals.

As they are the higher seed, Santiago Solari’s side only need a draw on aggregate to advance and they clearly went out looking to earn a clean sheet on the night.

América lacked any semblance of attack, taking just three shots the entire night as the ball spent most of the night near Memo Ochoa.

Pumas had a dangerous opportunity from a first-half free kick after Ochoa parried the ball into a crowd of players just six yards from goal but somehow the ball evaded everyone and Ochoa was able to cover up.

The Felines looked as if they had earned the win in the 82nd minute after Juan Ignacio Dinenno broke through the defense and put the ball in the back of the net.

However, the Argentine was ruled to be offside and after one more dangerous Pumas chance, the match ended 0-0 with all to play for this Saturday.
