Puma are in line to take over from Nike as Atlético Madrid’s kit manufacturer in May 2020.
And according to new reports they could be set for a radical redesign of the current strip.
Footy Headlines, who are normally on the money when it comes to these things, have claimed that Puma are developing a strip for the 2020/21 campaign that will hark back to Atleti’s original 1903 kit.
The capital club played in blue and white halves back then, as opposed to the red and white stripes they play in now.
Although there’s no prototype images available from Puma, Footy Headlines say that the kit will also feature the original Atleti badge.
It’s a similar idea to Arsenal who played in their original maroon colours during their final season at Highbury in 2005/06.
