On the final day of the summer holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia, 1,500 BVB fans came to Brackel to see Edin Terzic put his players through their paces. Striker Anthony Modeste, who signed for the club on Monday, was among the group for the first time.

Following their progression in the DFB-Pokal away to TSV 1860 Munich and their successful start to the Bundesliga season against Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the Borussia Dortmund players this Tuesday commenced their preparations for the upcoming away match against SC Freiburg (Friday 12/08, 20:30 CET).

In addition to new signing Anthony Modeste, the duo of Tom Rothe and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens returned from injury. Both players completed the full training session, which lasted a good 90 minutes.

After several minutes of demanding warming up and a crisp passing exercise to begin with, they moved into the first of the day's three game scenarios involving eight small goals. That was followed by a match on half of the training pitch and an intense game in an extended penalty area with give and goes, with the coaching staff calling for speedy finishing and lots of goals. The Black & Yellows executed the instructions, though their team-mates between the sticks often excelled with strong saves. Modeste also netted his first goals at Dortmund's training ground. "It's all happened very quickly for me – the medical was only yesterday and I'm already on the pitch today. But I am happy to be here and am enjoying spending time with my new team-mates. I have a good feeling," said Borussia's new No. 20 in an interview with BVB TV.

Before fulfilling autograph and selfie requests with numerous fans, the BVB supporters had a little sing-song. Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, who only turned 18 yesterday, was given a fitting birthday serenade by the Black & Yellow faithful.
