PSV Eindhoven are close to completing the signing of Ricardo Pepi from Augsburg, according to Fabrizio Romano. Eredivisie champions Feyenoord were also in the race to sign the US international striker. However, personal terms between Pepi and PSV have been agreed and the deal should be over the line within the next 24 hours.
Pepi spent last season on loan at FC Groningen, where he scored 12 goals in 29 appearances for the club that were relegated from the Dutch top flight. Augsburg paid more than €16m for Pepi, who joined the Bundesliga club from FC Dallas in January 2022. Now, they’re set to sell the 20-year-old for nearly €10m.
This week Feyenoord submitted a €10.5m bid for Ricardo Pepi, according to German media. But after weeks of speculation, he’s set to arrive at the Philips Stadion very soon. Pepi is set to become Peter Bosz’s first signing as PSV head coach. The 59-year-old was appointed as the clubs head coach following Ruud van Nistelrooy’s departure in May.
