According to RMC Sport, PSG are hoping that Portuguese left-back Nuno Mendes (21) will be able to return to competitive action in February. Initial reports had indicated that the former Sporting defender would be able to return in January but all signs are now pointing towards a February return.

Mendes has been absent from PSG training for almost nine months. The Portuguese international sustained a hamstring injury on the 30th of April 2023 which has prevented him from appearing in any competitive matches for Les Parisiens. In his absence, Lucas Hernandez has been predominantly filling in at left-back.

A return for UCL second-leg against Sociedad?

Paris are hoping that the 21-year-old full-back will be available for their Champions League Round of 16 second-leg clash with Real Sociedad. The second match between the La Liga champions and the La Liga club is set to take place on the 5th March. This indicates any potential return for Mendes could be towards the end of February with the first leg taking place on Valentine’s Day.
