On a visit back to formative club Santos, Paris Saint-Germain forward Neymar (31) has said that he will one day return to the Brazilian club.

Neymar left Santos to join Barcelona back in 2013 before later joining PSG for a world record €222m fee back in 2017. Whilst the Brazilian international has a contract with Les Parisiens that runs until 2025, with an option for a further year, there are rumours that this season may be his last at the Parc des Princes.

The reality is, however, that few sides would be able to afford Neymar, whilst L’Équipe reported in February that the player wanted to remain at PSG until at least 2027. However, during a visit back to his native Brazil, Neymar has seemingly contradicted that report, and entertained the possibility of a return to Santossoon.”

In an interview with Globo Esporte, transcribed by Le Parisien, Neymar said, “One day, I’ll be back. I’ll be back soon.” Neymar is currently out until the end of the season with an ankle injury and witnessed Santos draw 0-0 against Sao Paulo. He added, “It’s great to be back some. I feel at home here, and I’m happy to be back here 10 years later. Unfortunately, it was a draw, and I wanted the win. I came here to support Santos and receive the fans’ affection. It is the club that gave me everything, that opened up doors for me and my family, and who revealed me to the world. I am very happy to be here.”
