Brazil have confirmed via their official social media ahead of the upcoming international break that PSG centre-back Lucas Beraldo (20) is set to receive his first senior international call-up.

Beraldo has only recently made the switch from his homeland to Europe – signing for Paris Saint Germain from São Paulo for a fee in the region of €20m in the January transfer window. Due to a defensive injury crisis at the Parc des Princes, the Brazil U21 international has found himself playing regular minutes at the heart of the Les Parisiens defence. The 20-year-old has taken his opportunity and been rewarded with his first senior international selection for Brazil.

Danilo Pereira (32) is the latest name to a growing list of injuries for the Ligue 1 champions, with Milan Škriniar (29) and Presnel Kimpembe (28) also unavailable in central defence. PSG captain Marquinhos (29) has also struggled with injury issues in recent weeks.

Marquinhos also in the squad

Beraldo’s PSG teammate and captain, Marquinhos, has also been included in the Seleção for the upcoming international break. Brazil will face England and Spain in the March international break with Beraldo looking to make his international debut.
