Fabrizio Romano is reporting that Juventus are unlikely to trigger the buy option in Leandro Paredes’ (28) loan deal from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Argentinian world champion has been on loan at the Serie A side since the start of the season and has made 22 appearances for the Turin-based club. However, during that time he has registered just one assist. The PSG loanee hasn’t featured for more than 45 minutes in a Juventus match since September.

Juventus are therefore not considering purchasing the player, according to Romano. The Italian side had the opportunity to purchase the out-of-favour PSG midfielder for €22m, at the end of the season. However, it must be noted that no final decision has been made on Paredes’ future, which remains up in the air.

Paredes could return to Les Parisiens at the end of the season as things stand. Despite beginning the season at the French club, he found gametime limited, especially given the arrivals of Vitinha, Fabián Ruiz and Renato Sanches in the midfield. Youngster Warren Zaïre-Emery has since broken into the first team, meaning that Paredes would likely struggle to break back into the team at PSG.
