In his press conference ahead of tomorrow’s cup clash against Marseille, Paris Saint-Germain manager Christophe Galtier was notably asked once again about his feeling about of facing his hometown club.

Galtier, who also featured for OM in his playing days and came up through the youth ranks with Les Phocéens, has denied on a number of occasions that his links to the league leaders’ arch rivals would have an effect on his professional commitments.

PSG face Marseille at the Stade Vélodrome twice this month, the first coming tomorrow in the Coupe de France last 16, and once again at the end of the month, in what could be a final chance for Igor Tudor’s men to keep their hopes of catching up with the title frontrunners alive. Their Parc des Princes encounter back in October saw a Neymar goal secure a slender win for the hosts.

The former Lille and Saint-Étienne coach insists that his mind is solely on helping PSG win tomorrow:

“I am completely disregarding the fact I was born in Marseille and played for them. I’ve muted all arrivals on my phone or from family to stay very focused on the match. It’s not a last 16 like any other.”
