According to L’Équipe, Brighton are set to sign 19-year-old right-back Romaric Yapi after reportedly winning the battle against the likes of Wolves and Nîmes.

He is expected to undergo a medical and sign his first professional deal on Thursday.

The versatile Yapi, who has spent the last year with the PSG U-19s under manager Thiago Motta, has also been deployed as a right winger and a central midfielder.

Yapi is set to become the latest promising PSG youngster to leave the club in search of first-team experience.

PSG U-19 captain Raphael Nya​ signed with Wolves earlier this summer, while forwards Moussa Diaby and Timothy Weah left the French champions for Bayer Leverkusen and Lille, respectively.

Brighton have made signing younger players a priority this summer,having already brought in centre-back Adam Webster (24), winger Leandro Trossard (24), and forward Neal Maupay (22)
