Over the weekend, Paris Saint-Germain clinched their 13th Ligue 1 title with their win against Anger at the Parc des Princes. On April 9, the French champions will host Unai Emery's Aston Villa in the first-leg of the Champions League quarterfinal.
Ahead of this crucial game, Paris will have all of their players available, with the exception of Kang-In Lee who is still recovering from an ankle injury sustained while he was on international duty and Marquinhos who is suspended.
Désiré Doué: " You know, it was a dream of mine to play with the national team, and when I knew i was called-up, I was very happy, so I went without any pressure, but with a lot of pride and excitement. With time now, I am very happy of my first game and what happened, and happy to have discovered the France national team. I will keep working to be able to go again."
Désiré Doué: " I am very happy, it follows the progression of the squad, our ambitions too, to go as far as possible in each competitions. So we will face this challenge with seriousness and play to win it."
Désiré Doué: " When you reach this stage of the competition, there is no luck involved, none. So if Aston Villa is here, it means they deserve it. So talking about a favourite today, I am not sure it is the right thing to do. We will face this game with seriousness as I said. We will try to win the game, Villa is a good team with good players. We have to be serious from the kick-off to the final whistle tomorrow and for the second-leg too."
Luis Enrique: " It doesn't change a thing, nothing. He cannot play, but it doesn't change anything. What is the most important? What did I say many times in press conferences all year? It is no big deal, Marquinhos is our captain, he will be in the stands, he will cheer our team and that is the strength of our team. It doesn't matter which player is missing, the team is there to replace him."
Luis Enrique: " This is something that doesn't bother me at all, it is the complete opposite. I am very happy that Marco Asensio can play. He didn't get enough minutes with us so he had the option to go to Birmingham. So of course, it great that he plays, and I know him well, and way better than all of you, because I shared with him many things with the national team. I had the opportunity to have him during a World Cup, it is a player very important for me.
"He was important last year and this season too at the beginning but I know him perfectly. Marco Asensio is a top level player who won a lot of trophies in Europe, one of the most decorated in Europe and has an elite technical ability."
