Le Parisien report tonight that Paris Saint-Germain have turned down 4th tier Versailles FC’s request to use the Parc des Princes for their upcoming Coupe de France semi-final tie against Nice.
Versailles director Jean-Luc Arribart explains that the decision was due to the stadium’s pitch requiring a specific upkeep. With the ground being used several times in March by the men’s and women’s teams, PSG are not willing to add an extra fixture.
Versailles have until Monday to confirm a stadium to the FFF – the Stade de France appears out of their financial range, and as a result they are expected to turn to the Stade Charléty in the south of the city, where Paris FC play. However, the security measures could be increased as a result of the crowd trouble that marred the Paris FC-Lyon cup tie in December.
