Xavi Simons is likely to leave Paris Saint-Germain, with a return to RB Leipzig on the horizon. This development isn’t great news for clubs like Bayern Munich and Manchester United, who have shown interest in the young talent recently.

Last month, Simons took to Instagram and posted a cryptic message, saying, “Not every closed door is locked. Push.” The post added further mystery to what the 21-year-old intended to do with his future.

Despite interest from Bayern Munich and Manchester United, Simons is reportedly staying at Leipzig for another loan stint. According to Le Parisien, he is expected to arrive in Leipzig at the beginning of next week to complete his return to the club.

He will be loaned again without an option to buy. As a result, it’s a short-term solution for Simons and PSG as the two will be in the same situation again next summer. However, could Bayern Munich and Manchester United return with the same interest?

Le Parisien’s Benjamin Quarez also reported last month that Simons is heading to RB Leipzig on loan. This move allows PSG to retain full control over his future in 2025 and gives them the potential to receive 100 percent of any transfer fee next summer.

If Simons had been sold this summer, PSV would have taken 60 percent of the fee. Simons never planned to return to PSG; his true ambition is to play in the Premier League, possibly in 2025, which is promising news for Manchester United.
