Paris Saint-Germain are reportedly eyeing River Plate’s Franco Mastantuono as a possible summer signing, but they are not alone in the race for the talented Argentine. Several top European clubs are also in the mix.
According to a recent report from Diario AS, an “auction” could break out for Mastantuono, who has been attracting strong interest from Manchester United and Chelsea. The 17-year-old playmaker currently has a €45 million release clause in his contract.
Real Madrid are said to be monitoring the Argentina Under-20 star as well, though no formal offers have been made. Mastantuono is under contract with River Plate until 2026 and will be eligible to move to Europe after turning 18 in August, following his participation in the Club World Cup.
Transfer expert Cesar Luis Merlo previously reported that Manchester United have shown the strongest interest so far. The club has been tracking Mastantuono closely, even attending matches in person, and are well aware that his €45 million release clause would need to be triggered for any deal to happen.

Journalist Nicolò Schira reports that Chelsea, Manchester United, PSG, and Real Madrid are the clubs keen on the Argentine.
Mastantuono fits the profile that the Parisians are looking at as he’s young and has yet to even tap into his potential. Moreover, under manager Luis Enrique, the club aren’t afraid to give prominent roles to teenagers, as João Neves, who joined PSG at 19, and Désiré Doué have shown this season.
