L’Équipe are reporting that Paris Saint-Germain have identified Borussia Mönchengladbach midfielder Manu Koné (21) as a key target for the summer transfer window.
The Frenchman, who came through the ranks at Ligue 1 rivals Toulouse before moving to Germany, is highly admired by PSG sporting advisor Luis Campos. The player himself is interested in a move to the Parc des Princes, and according to L’Équipe, the France U21 international would cost between €25m-35m.
PSG recruited heavily in their midfield last summer. Campos was responsible for the arrivals of Vitinha, Fabian Ruiz and Carlos Soler, none of whom have entirely convinced since arriving at Les Parisiens. Vitinha began brightly in a midfield pivot alongside Marco Verratti but has tailed off significantly since returning from the World Cup.
L’Équipe also reported that PSG are interested in two other Frenchmen plying their trade in the Bundesliga: Randal Kolo Muani and Marcus Thuram. Kolo Muani is excelling in his debut season in the Bundesliga with Eintracht Frankfurt and would be an expensive option. Thuram, who will leave Borussia Mönchengladbach on a free in the summer, is seen as a backup option, according to the French publication.
