🇫🇷 PSG survive scare to win Ligue 1 opener against Troyes | OneFootball

Paris Saint-Germain travelled to Stade de l’Aube for their Ligue 1 opener and walk away with the three points after a 2-1 victory on Saturday.

Scorers: El Hajjam 9′; Hakimi 19′, Icardi 21′

Despite just joining the top-flight, Troyes showed no fear against Ligue 1 giants PSG.

Instead, the hosts’ energy shocked the club from the capital and they took an early lead through Oualid El Hajjam’s header just nine minutes in.

However, PSG grew into the match and managed to turn things around within a two-minute spell.

Anchored by his speed, new signing Achraf Hakimi levelled things up with his first goal for his new club.

Almost immediately after, a link-up between Kylian Mbappé and Mauro Icardi handed PSG a 2-1 lead.

After the break, both sides continued to throw their attacks forward and Troyes gave PSG’s backline a few scares forcing goalkeeper Keylor Navas into a handful of saves.

Yet, despite going down early, the visitors did just enough to win their 2021-22 league opener.
