PSG suffered a shock 3-1 defeat away to Nantes on Saturday despite starting Kylian Mbappé, Neymar and Lionel Messi together for the first time in 2022.

Scorers: Muani 4′, Merlin 16′, Blas 45+6′; Neymar 47′.

Nantes stormed into a surprise lead after just four minutes when a lightning quick counter attack saw Moses Simon break into the final third and square a ball across for Randal Kolo Muani to slot past Keylor Navas.

That incredible start strengthened further in the 16th minute with wing-back Quentin Merlin smashing the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box to double the hosts’ lead.

Ludovic Blas then put the game beyond the league leaders in first half stoppage time when his powerful penalty looked to have been denied by Navas but the Chilean could only get a hand to it before it nestled in the back of the net.

Neymar pulled one back for PSG at the start of the second half after being played through by Messi before curling home with his right-foot but it wasn’t enough to stop a first defeat since October, particularly after the Brazilian was then denied from the spot moments later.

The Parisians remain 13 points clear at the top of Ligue 1 while Nantes have moved into the top six.
