PSG Star’s Final Season in Paris Will Be Remembered for Off-Field Issues Ahead of Real Madrid Move | OneFootball

In a matter of weeks, Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé will join Real Madrid, and one pundit believes that his last season is going to be remembered for his off-the-pitch issues.

While there’s no certain date as to when the 25-year-old will be revealed as a Real Madrid player, the Parisians are ready to say goodbye to Mbappé after their Coupe de France final against Olympique Lyonnais.

Nonetheless, RMC Sport pundit Emmanuel Petit provided his assessment of the player’s final season in Paris and how it’s likely to be remembered.

“People are increasingly feeling a pronounced sense of bitterness,” Petit said on Rothen s’enflamme. “There are a lot of people at Paris Saint-Germain who feel like he hasn’t really shown much love for the club. That’s true. That’s why I’m saying tomorrow is crucial for him. Over the last six months, his relationships, communication, and public image have been disastrous.

“I’m not even talking about his sports performance. You can list all of Kylian Mbappé’s stats this year—one of his best seasons—but for me, it’s all just a blur. I won’t remember much except for the off-field issues and the disappointing end to the season, where we expected too much from him. He kept saying, ‘I’ll be there, I’ll be there,’ like in his tweet about the Olympics: ‘If they send me a message, I’ll be there.’ It’s enough already. Stop.”

While many assume he’s going to sign with Real Madrid, he’s yet to state anything. The Frenchman again spoke with reporters and was asked whether he’d join Los Blancos.
